This Perazzi MX2000 Pro Sporter—with raised, 3-position adjustable rib and raised, 6-way adjustable comb—is equally at home on sporting clays and 5-stand courses, trap fields and skeet ranges. With the rib set in the top position and the comb adjusted all the way down, it shoots a perfectly flat 50/50 pattern for sporting clays, 5-stand and skeet. Trap and double-trap shooters, as well as those sporting clays and 5-stand shooters preferring a higher pattern, can dial in anything from 50/50 up to 80/20 patterns in a minute flat simply by adjusting the rib and comb. Maximum adjustment range of the comb is a whopping 30mm (1.18”), and a complete set of eight blued-steel comb spacers (two each in 1mm, 2mm, 4mm and 8mm) let you quickly reproduce your desired comb height. This is truly an “All Clays” gun that does not compromise performance in any of the individual clay target disciplines. And it swings like a hot knife through butter. The gun’s mechanical features include a low-profile, Boss-style receiver, 31.5” barrels (32.25” overall with extended choke tubes installed), 18.7mm/.736” overbored barrels, 3-inch chambers that perform just like extended forcing cones, oversized extractor cams, removable disc ejector stops for easy disassembly, replaceable trunnions instead of a problematic hinge pin, combination safety/barrel selector, fixed trigger group with no-hassle coil springs, 7/16” x 7/16” parallel adjustable rib with white bead front sight and silver mid-rib bead, ventilated mid rib, 6-way adjustable comb, LOP-adjustable trigger and seven Perazzi extended choke tubes with long parallel sections in 0mm (2), 2mm, 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm constrictions (multiply by 4 to get the constrictions in thousandths of an inch). The top lever, trigger guard and receiver are hand engraved in fine rose and scroll at about 75% coverage, with “Perazzi MX2000S” inlayed in gold on both sides of the receiver. All metal is deeply polished and brightly blued. The buttstock and Schnabel fore-end are fashioned from breathtaking, highly figured, SC3-Grade Turkish root walnut, flawlessly double-border hand checkered at 28 L.P.I., and meticulously hand finished to a deep satin sheen. The buttstock includes a moderate right-hand palm swell and cushy butt pad, and is easily removable via the included stock wrench through a hole in the butt pad. Stock dimensions with the comb in the lowest position are: Length of Pull = 14.5" to 15.1" via adjustable trigger; Drop at Comb = 1.6”; Drop at Heel = 1.8”; Cast at Heel = 0.2” RH; Cast at Toe = 0.4” RH. Empty weight is 8 lbs. 9.6 oz. The combination of the barrels’ aggressive overbore, 3-inch chambers and long parallel section choke tubes results in very modest perceived recoil, even with hot 1-1/8 oz. sporting clays or handicap loads.
